Single Bed
thingiverse
I engineered this design to be fabricated from a single sheet of plywood, precisely measuring 8 x 4 feet (2440mm x 1220mm) in size and half an inch thick (12.7mm). Accessing a Shopbot router proved fortunate for its potential applications in disaster relief efforts. This versatile tool enabled me to produce multiple beds simultaneously with remarkable efficiency. Its compact size made it ideal for transportation, reaching areas in dire need of emergency shelters quickly. Below is a step-by-step guide for producing the beds: 1. Load the provided DXF file into your router software. 2. Utilize the outside offset feature to generate a toolpath around all closed vectors within the design. 3. Configure the tool with a quarter-inch (6mm) diameter cutter and initiate the cutting process. Once complete, all individual components will effortlessly come together, securing in place through an interference fit mechanism.
