A Basic Single Axle Trailer Dolly This single axle trailer dolly has a very basic design with frame rails, tongue, fifth wheel plate and rear bumper. It does not include any extra features but still offers some decent scale details in the fifth wheel plate and frame rails that can withstand even PLA printing. Tamiya Hardware Integration The design integrates mounting holes to use a single axle Tamiya suspension setup. You will need some spacers from the Tamiya kit, which are attached with instructions on how to attach them along with plastic adapters to put a single axle in the middle of the leaf spring. The Tamiya hardware required includes the fifth wheel itself, associated mounting hardware and release mechanism. You can also obtain rectangle taillight lenses from the flatbed kit or make your own mudflaps. Additional Hardware Needed The front tongue is held on by 4mm battery bullet connectors and you'll need a few extra 3mm screws to assemble it. The rear bumper and top plate use wood style threads that thread into the rails. All other fasteners have a recessed hole for a flanged lock nut used in Tamiya kits. A few spacers are included to print for the leaf spring to frame rail mount. The Tongue The tongue is designed to leverage the rc4wd pintle hook mount, which is not cheap but looks pretty good and is accurate for the style used in the US. The tongue is fixed in position and does not hinge from the frame rails. It's easy to adapt the design to a different type of mount like a rod end if you want.
