Single Action Rubber Band Cowboy Pistol
thingiverse
Trying to master a working single action mechanism for another project I am working on, I discovered detailed plans to make a wooden single action pistol here - https://www.rbguns.com/guns/single-action-army-revolver/. I converted it into printable format and was thrilled when the actual printed product worked seamlessly. To add extra durability, I printed the pin pieces at 100% infill. If only I had printed them horizontally instead of vertically, the catch pieces wouldn't have broken and I could have replaced them after gluing the body pieces together. This design utilizes 40mm rubberbands to operate effectively. Specifically, three are used for the hammer to the handle and one is used for the trigger to the toggle. I believe I've found a solution to incorporate the single action mechanism into a more accurate Colt single action prop I am working on, so stay tuned for that as well. See a video demonstration here: https://youtu.be/3qKsrjJteoo Print Settings: Printer: Hatchbox Alpha / Flash Forge Creator Pro Rafts: Any setting will do Supports: Yes, recommended Resolution: 200 Micron for optimal results Infill: 15% is the minimum recommended infill to achieve a sturdy product Assembly Notes: Carefully follow the pictures to assemble the components correctly. The frame must be glued together along with the grips and barrel. Sanding may be necessary to smooth out any rough edges.
