3D Printed Singing Heart Someone suggested I make a heart. Here is my first crack at it. I do anticipate making another version with arrow through it as well. I'm planning on making it interchangable with this model to avoid having to reprint the entire prop if you want an arrow. I don't plan on printing this for myself. While I have looked over the final product, I can't be certain everything is perfect. Description: It is composed of 31 separate pieces. (there are 2 test pieces used for printer testing and don't attach to the bulb). Most pieces are 6mm thick with a 2mm wide raised edge that is 10mm high. This has shown to be plenty strong. My printed models have lasted 2 Upstate New York winters and show no signs of damage (printed in PLA even). Its approximate size is 840mm wide x 770mm high (33in x 31in). It holds 117 pixels (if I counted correctly). (I know just over 100, sorry). Printer: Each piece is sized to fit on an Ender Pro printing bed (they fit in a 220x220 bed). Should be able to at least print several pieces at one time but this won't always be the case. I have tested printed pieces using PLA+ from GST3D. This stuff seems to print very nicely. To make the dove tailing work with a good fit, I do set the Horizontal Expansion to -0.21 (I found this varies with filament and new nozzles. I created several small "test pieces" so you could set up printer without wasting much material. XLights: There is an xlights custom model provided as well. While making the model, you may have to splice at two places (entering and exiting the mouth). I think you will be OK witih 4" spacing between your nodes. Not certain though! Please enjoy and provide feedback. I like to hear what others have to say.
