Singer Sewing machine reel holder
thingiverse
My mother-in-law's Singer Model 140Q (USA) was missing its cotton spool holder, so I quickly designed a replacement in Fusion 360. I couldn't imagine anyone needing one, but you never know what might happen! It turns out that many people have been searching for this part, and I'll try to add some ribs to make it stronger when I find the time. 190318 Update: It's taken me ages to get back to this project, but here it is with flutes added for extra strength. I made a new version with holes in the base, which printed fine on our Makerbot Replicator+ without supports. There was some minor droop, but it didn't cause any issues. I haven't tried printing it with support yet. The version without holes prints just as well without support. I'd love to see your own versions of this part! Print Settings Printer Brand: MakerBot Printer: MakerBot Replicator+ Rafts: Yes Supports: No Resolution: 0.2mm, 2 shells Infill: 40% Notes: You may need to slow down the printer so the layers can cool properly. I achieved this by spacing two parts on the build plate. The time it takes to travel from one part to another allows for cooling. 190318 Update: The last version with holes printed fine on its own, and I've now tested it on a new Makerbot Replicator+.
