Third in a series\r\nContinuing my "Sinew Vases" series, I present the Sinew Bowl. This is by far the most complex of the series: the creation process, geometry, and printing all proved challenging.\r\nWhat to do...\r\nThis bowl can be used in various ways. Maybe you have a small jar that you place inside, fill with water, and add flowers. (Beware, the model itself may not be watertight without additional perimeters.) You could put in wrapped candies or permanent markers, bits and bobs, or some other collection of items.\r\nOr maybe, just maybe, you place an LED tealight in it and use it as a romantic centerpiece.\r\nSlicing tips...\r\nThis is a tricky one. Vase mode is possible, but your mileage may vary. Slic3r tends to slice it in such a way that a few little "islands" are created which, in turn, leads to interruptions of the vase spiral, introducing artifacts. You can see those in the photo with the two vases together.\r\nCura does fine and will successfully spiralize the contour.\r\nI haven't tested other slicers, however.\r\nAlternatively, you could choose to print with zero infill, three bottom layers, and zero top layers with 2-3 perimeters and get a decent result in just about any slicer.\r\nPlease post your make!\r\nI love seeing what people make and how it turns out. If you have the time and actually make this, I would really appreciate it - it keeps me inspired.\r\nIf you like it...\r\nI do have a tip jar and I'll put any funds towards more filament and not basic necessities.\r\nIf you want to help me out, please consider using my Proto-pasta affiliate link!\r\nThanks for your support!
