Sinew vase #3 (bowl)

Third in a series ================= Presenting the Sinew Bowl, a creation that surpasses its predecessors in complexity: the process of making, geometry, and printing all pushed me to my limits. What to do now... ----------------- This bowl is versatile and can be used in numerous ways. You might place a small jar inside, fill it with water, and add a few flowers (be cautious, as the model itself may not be watertight without additional boundaries). Alternatively, you could fill it with wrapped candies or stick in permanent markers, trinkets, and other miscellaneous items. Or perhaps, you'll use it as a romantic centerpiece by placing an LED tealight inside. Slicing tips... ------------- This is a delicate process. Vase mode is possible, but your results may vary. Slic3r tends to slice it in such a way that small "islands" are created, leading to interruptions of the vase spiral and introducing artifacts. You can see these issues in the photo with the two vases together. Cura does an excellent job, successfully spiralizing the contour. I'm unsure about other slicers, however. As an alternative, you could choose to print with zero infill, three bottom layers, and zero top layers with 2-3 perimeters. I'm confident that this will yield a decent result in almost any slicer.
