Sine Wave Woven Basket

Wanted to do something different for #waveywednesday so I combined my 3dp weaving technique with a basket designed with a sine wave formula.

This can be done Multi color or single color. To get the weaving effect with a single color make sure the posts and the weave use different processes or they will be merged together.

Important: The design assumes an extrusion width of exactly 0.4mm so for best results you need to use a 0.4mm nozzle and set the extrusion width to 0.4mm. You can try to use a different size nozzle but then you need to scale the whole model (for example to use a 0.5mm nozzle 0.5/0.4=1.25 so scale to 125%) and since I haven't tried it myself I can't promise it will work.

The suffix L is for the large model, S for the small. You need all 5 stl files, base, post, weave1, weave2, and rim and you need to align model origins.

If you print this upload a picture and tag me on Twitter @patterntoprint

Print instructions

Category: Containers Summary

Wanted to do something different for #waveywednesday so I combined my 3dp weaving technique with a basket designed with a sine wave formula.

This can be done Multi color or single color.
