Sinclair ZX Microdrive enclosure

thingiverse

This is a printable ZX Microdrive enclosure. The original drive fits perfectly inside it, and the vDrive also fits with ease. [vDrive](http://www.vdrivezx.com/) is highly recommended! I'm not affiliated with them, but they're a must-have for anyone using an Interface 1 or QL. The designer of the vDrive ZX has kindly asked permission to sell these printed enclosures, so be sure to check out their website if you don't have access to a 3D printer. Only the base requires support from the build plate up. The top cover can be printed on the rear side without any issues. Three separate prints are needed for the feet, which must be glued to the bottom. Additionally, the front panel needs to be glued to the top cover. Files may undergo changes as some of the holes and standoffs are slightly off. However, I'm not too fussy about such details. Rubber feet and a replacement faceplate can be ordered from www.sellmyretro.com for those who prefer a more authentic look. Keep an eye out for the upcoming Interface 2 enclosure! Follow me to stay notified. *** UPDATE 11-04-19 *** The top cover has been updated, ensuring a better fit for the faceplate. I've also added the bracket that holds two Microdrives together. If you've already printed v3, you'll only need to reprint the top cover. *** UPDATE 02-05-19 *** I've added a printable faceplate template that can be printed on self-adhesive paper and covered with sticky-backed plastic. While I do recommend purchasing the replica from sellmyretro.com, this option is available for those who prefer it. *** UPDATE 23-5-19 *** A vDrive ZX version has been added to the mix, featuring the vDrive ZX text instead of the traditional ZX Microdrive lettering.
