Simson S51 Bremslichtschalter vorn / brake light switch
thingiverse
I wanted to install a brake light switch up front, but the aftermarket kit for almost 30 euros was too pricey. So I built my own instead. You'll need a cable that fits through the 5mm wide cable guide in addition to this rotary encoder: https://www.ebay.de/itm/5X-Set-Micro-Rollenhebel-Endschalter-KW12-3-PCB-Microswitch-TSHXN/263905662864?hash=item3d7200d790:g:oZIAAOSwefVZnzZc The recess in the housing is designed to fit the encoder. I'm using an LED for the brake light. I don't think the switch can handle the high startup current of a incandescent bulb long-term, so you should add a relay or MOSFET between them. You'll also need an M3 socket head screw that's 14mm long and an M3 and M5 nut. I recommend using Nyloc nuts for added security. Make sure to print the housing with supports, unless your printer is capable of printing good bridges and overhangs;-) 100% infill recommended. <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/-yYJZ2XFBEE" frameborder="0" allow="autoplay; encrypted-media" allowfullscreen></iframe>
