Simpsons Martin Honor Roller Soapbox Derby Racer

Human: I built a model of Martin's "Honor Roller" from the Simpsons' soapbox derby episode, taking some creative liberties to make it more accurate. The model features a slot for a windshield that I laser-cut, but you can also use thin plastic like lexan and hand-cut it to fit. On the underside, there are three openings for wheels, which were originally made of thin plywood disks with axles glued into cross slots. To create a display model, functionality isn't necessary, although mine did rotate. The model is shown in its completed state after being filled, smoothed, and sanded with modeling putty, then primed and painted gloss white, followed by masking and painting black. I designed decals based on the episode's appearance and placement, printing them on transparent decal material. Unfortunately, the original files are lost, but you can easily recreate the decals from a screenshot of the episode. I'm thrilled with how this model turned out, and I'd love to see your version if you decide to make it. Please upload a picture when you're done! UPDATE: I've located the decal files and included them in the download. Additionally, I've added a dwg file for a 3-view with masking lines, which you can print at 1:1 scale using a hobby knife to cut along the lines onto your chosen masking material. Use high-quality masks, as the model's curves tend to allow paint bleed. Spray from a distance and directly above the surface, applying multiple light coats instead of heavy ones to minimize paint bleeding under the mask.
