I've developed a custom 3D printer based on the GUS Simpson concept from RepRap.org. The design allows for a square heated bed and touch probe, giving me more control over print quality. To power my printer, I'm using a modified Marlin firmware with an Atmega2550 microcontroller and Ramps 1.4 board - it's a cost-effective solution that still delivers excellent performance. The construction process was completed successfully, but I eventually switched to a cartesian CoreXY variant of the printer due to its versatility. However, I'm so impressed by this design that I decided to share it with others who might want to give it a try. Here are some videos showcasing my quick tests of the printer's mechanics and modified Marlin firmware: * https://youtu.be/EC8Vc0Y3SwI * https://youtu.be/KLIYvSXHRx8 * https://youtu.be/vAyoxbl9Me0 * https://youtu.be/RSLSo5djzvA * https://youtu.be/uOudku6Uui4 * https://youtu.be/ESs8r99B3E4
