Having explored numerous MakerBot extruder modifications, I opted for the original version and downloaded the print files. The assembled part appeared excellent with all pieces fitting perfectly. However, it lacked a bearing, shoulder bolt, and spring; thus, I customized one for my Qu-BD extruder using the existing bolts and an available bearing. Despite printing without revising the mount to include a bottom material, the initial version worked well, albeit slightly spreading at the bottom. This modification offers adjustable lever positions due to my printer's unique design, which made other mods inaccessible without altering the extruder mount. For the bearing, a 624 size is ideal, and I glued its cover for durability. The spring was sourced from a large package at Home Depot. After printing, clean up, assemble, and install the parts. I shared the Sketchup dae file for anyone needing customization. However, the "qubdmoddrawing" file is for reference only and not printable. I've used this modification for over a month, but it exhibits noticeable twisting due to spring tension. Consequently, further improvements are required. Currently, I am experimenting with different Bowden designs; feel free to modify as needed.
