SimpliSafe doorbell case
thingiverse
The SimpliSafe doorbell is vulnerable to theft by an experienced thief within approximately 15 seconds without any modifications. This upgrade significantly increases the difficulty of stealing, making it more challenging for a potential thief to identify and remove the doorbell. I strongly advise against using PLA for this modification due to its tendency to become soft at lower temperatures compared to other plastics. The intense sunlight during hot summer days can further exacerbate this issue. To achieve optimal results, I recommend printing the case upside-down. Following the print job, sanding the surface will enhance the appearance of the doorbell case. The installation process involves closely following the provided instructional images. To remove the case, use a sharp tool to break through any wood filler or caulk that may have been applied. Next, insert a screw into each of the two wedges, drive it partially into the top, and then pull up on the screw to dislodge the wedge. Finally, you can safely pull the case straight out from the wall.
