Simplify3d location cube
thingiverse
I use a simple location cube to import into Simplify3D so I can identify the x,y coordinate of a part. This helps me pinpoint a spot to place a seam, which marks the start point of a layer. To do this, I simply import the cube into Simplify3D and move it to my desired location. The x,y coordinate will then be displayed. I enter this information into my FFF profile settings under Layer, then select Start Points, choosing a specific start point. Previewing the part allows me to gauge how close I am, and I may need to make some adjustments, but it's usually pretty accurate!
