SimpleX Carriage for E3D Volcano and Anet A6
thingiverse
The carriage has been engineered with a nut capture system specifically designed for M3 nuts. Assembly is facilitated by M3 cap screws. The carriage relies on 3 X LM8UU bearings, which allows it to seamlessly accommodate Igus bearings as well. With three bearings in place, the carriage exhibits significantly improved stability compared to those using just two LM8LUUs. When printed with the recommended wall and infill settings, the carriage is noticeably lighter than the Frankenstein design and provides a more secure hold on the hotend/heatbreak/heatsink assembly, eliminating any wobble. Unfortunately, I discovered that the Frankenstein developed considerable wobble over time as the base hole expanded due to its less robust clamping system. I deliberately opted not to incorporate a full circle part cooler into this design. This decision was made after observing that these coolers tended to cool excessively and caused problems. By positioning the blower close to the plastic exiting the nozzle and using a lower power fan, I achieved better results while also allowing for the use of a quieter fan.
