simplehuman rechargeable 9 oz. sensor soap dispenser tank removal tool
thingiverse
I wanted to open my simplehuman rechargeable 9 oz. sensor soap dispenser to attempt a repair but had no easy way of removing the lower tank/reservoir that holds the soap. I modeled a tool that would allow me to easily unscrew the tank from the body. Note that the tank only needs to be unscrewed about 30 degrees for it to be removed. If the tank does not drop out after turning, try rotating back and forth a small amount to help loosen the tank. Also note that in order to improve grip, I've attached a model with a slightly wider diameter than the one pictured. It's not strictly required but will make things more comfortable. I have added an alternative model with a hollow center to potentially reduce printing time and material use. Printing: The model is designed to fairly high tolerances so does not require very detailed printing. Orient either the top or bottom surfaces of the model to the print bed. No supports required. Not much force is required to turn the tank so does not require much infill. I printed successfully at 20% infill with success. Settings I used: PLA .175 mm layer height 20% infill
