Simple7 Puzzle This is a nice little puzzle that's neither too difficult nor too easy, making it just right in size and challenge level like a Goldilocks Puzzle. The overall puzzle dimensions are 6cm x 6cm x 2.5cm (2 3/8" x 2 3/8" x 1"). It's simple to print the Box, Box Top, and 7 Pieces with minimal supports and no post-print finishing required. Some people find it quick and easy to solve, while others will find it a bit more challenging. These small puzzles make great Holiday or Birthday gifts for anyone who enjoys a good puzzle. The Solution: Place all 7 Pieces flat on the bottom of the Box without tilting them, ensuring each Piece lies flat in its designated spot. The Box Top fits back onto the Box with ease once all 8 Sticks are inside comfortably. There's plenty of room in the Box for all 7 Pieces when arranged correctly, thanks to about 1.0mm slack in both the X and Y dimensions. To make printing easier, I've included a single .stl file with all 7 Puzzle Pieces arranged together as a group and another with both the Box and Box Top combined. Individual .stl files are also provided for each part. I printed my examples on a Makerbot Replicator 5th Gen using: Layers=0.20mm, Shells=2, Roof=.80mm, Floor=0.80mm, Fill=10%, Infill Pattern=Diamond (fast), Raft=Yes, Supports=No. The simple geometry of the Box and Pieces makes it possible to achieve a nice model in a relatively short print time with these modest settings. Please note that I'll respond to personal Thingiverse messages regarding part sizes and printing accuracy. If you're struggling to solve the puzzle once printed, message me your email address for the Solution Photo, which I'll send by return email. I promise not to use your email for anything else or share it with anyone. Feel free to reach out with questions, comments, or suggestions. I'd appreciate it if those who "Make" this puzzle could take a moment to respond with "I Made One," including a photo and their thoughts on the experience. However, please don't publish the Solution – that would spoil the fun for others. Have Fun! -mike- Instructions: To print all parts of the puzzle using PLA Filament on a MakerBot Replicator 5th Gen, follow these settings: Layer Height=0.20mm, Shells=2, Roof=.80mm, Floor=0.80mm, Fill=10%, Infill Pattern=Diamond (fast), Raft=Yes, Supports=No. These settings produce a nice puzzle in a reasonable amount of time. After printing, place your finished puzzles in a small zip-lock bag with all Pieces outside the Box and add a little "Instruction Note." I include this note below. I've printed over a dozen of these puzzles so far – they make great gifts and are fun to have as table top toys for friends and family visitors. Each puzzle takes about 4:30 to print, and none require any post-print finishing. The Box Top fits easily onto the Box, and its only purpose is to store the puzzle when not in use. To make printing easier/faster, I included a single .stl file with all 7 Puzzle Pieces arranged together as a group and another with both the Box and Box Top combined. Individual .stl files are also provided for each part. Post-Printing Instruction Label Sample
