Simple Z axis Couplers
thingiverse
A straightforward yet reliable Z coupler! It seamlessly pairs with 10mm M3 bolts and nuts. Two adaptable versions exist: One optimally suits 5mm motor shafts coupled with 8mm ACME rods: the Z-axis-coupler-5x8.stl file takes care of this combination. Another variant effectively teams 5mm motor shafts with 6.4mm ACME rods, making it a perfect match for Printrbot Simple and Simple Metal printers; however, it works remarkably well on other machines that utilize 6.4 mm ACME rods as well. One more model flawlessly connects 5mm motor shafts to 5mm ACME rods via the Z-axis-coupler-5x5.stl file. As of March 9, 2015, all versions now boast an upgraded screw axis located closer to the body for enhanced grip on both motor shafts and ACME rods. Follow these step-by-step instructions: 1. Print upright with the motor shaft hole situated at the bottom. 2. Enforce two complete outer perimeter prints. 3. Choose an infill density of 30% (more flexible) or 50% (firmer)
