Creating Your Own USB Memory Stick Case Through 3D Printing ========================================================== Learning to create custom cases for electronic devices is an exciting project, especially when combined with 3D printing technology. I decided to start by rehousing an old memory stick using FreeCAD as my design tool of choice. To begin, I gathered the necessary materials and software tools. My USB memory stick was in need of a modern makeover, so it became the perfect candidate for this project. Next, I launched FreeCAD and started creating a 3D model that would perfectly fit around my device. The design process involved sketching out the basic shape of the case and then adding details such as a secure closure system. Once the initial design was complete, I exported the file in STL format, which is suitable for use with most 3D printers. After uploading the file to my printer, I prepared it for printing by slicing the model into layers that would be easily printable. With the settings configured, the print job began, and soon my custom USB memory stick case was taking shape. The final product turned out great - a sleek, modern design that perfectly houses my device. The process of creating this simple case not only taught me how to use FreeCAD for 3D modeling but also gave me hands-on experience with designing and printing a functional item.
