Simple Unibody Padlock
thingiverse
My aim was to create a padlock that's simple to print and functions well, with an unibody housing. The design consists of just three parts: the shackle, the body, and the key. No assembly is required; simply slide the shackle into the body, and the lock clicks into place. To unlock it, insert the key fully into the four holes at the bottom of the body with a bit of pressure, and the padlock will spring open. However, be careful not to touch the shackle while inserting the key! If you import all three parts into your preferred slicer, you can print them simultaneously. The files come in two sizes: "_100" is the original design size, but I found that the 80% version, labeled "_80", works just as well and is more compact to print. My tip is to start by printing the 80% version; only if needed, print the 100% version. In my opinion, the strength of the smaller one is impressive too. EDIT: I've added V2 of the body, making it a bit thicker for enhanced stability. Feel free to use either version - the thinner one for a slimmer padlock or the V2 for more stability. Additionally, I've included the OpenSCAD source code for your remixes (the objects aren't at the same height, so please uncomment each part separately, render it, and export to STL).
