Simple spool hub - bearings optional

This compilation brings together three pieces sourced from other spool hub designs on this site, along with a plug I created using Scad. Print two hub inserts and your choice of two knobs and/or plugs. Hub inserts can accommodate 608zz bearings inserted and held in place by an 8mm thread-rod with a knob and nut. Personally, I prefer to use a combination of a knob and nut, shimmed with washers - secured directly within the hub without a bearing and a second hub insert featuring a plug and nut (both glued in). An 8mm thread-rod attached tightly holds my spool securely in place on an a-frame filament stand that allows it to spin freely. I print these at a layer height of .25mm using ABS, occasionally requiring supports for the hub insert - I rely on KISSlicer Pro 1.5 Beta (it offers excellent support options). For gluing, I use ABS slurry; however, Gorilla glue can be used if printing with PLA. Disclaimer: I compiled most of these components from others found on this site, and any rights belong to the original author along with their defined terms.
