Simple Spool Holder for Printrbot Metal

The ultimate way to stash a filament spool safely within your Printrbot Simple Metal. This spool holder prints in a single piece, aligning perfectly with the bed's design. As designed, it should fit most spools (up to 92mm wide and 200mm diameter), but just to be safe, I've included the OpenSCAD source code as well. You'll need a M3 22mm screw to mount it – simply swap one of the existing M3 16mm screws with it. The concept was to create a spool holder that secures the spool in an upright position (so it won't unwind) while minimizing added printer height. I designed this cantilever-style spool holder based on my previous t-slot design but had to modify one of the Z stepper screws to accommodate it, upping its length from 16mm to 20mm. The dual slots serve three purposes: saving filament, increasing tear resistance, and adding visual appeal.
