Simple Solar Eclipse Viewer

Simple Solar Eclipse Viewer

thingiverse

I tried to find a printable Solar Eclipse Viewer on Thingiverse, but unfortunately I couldn't locate one, so I created my own instead. Here are the steps to use it: 1. First, print out both parts of the viewer. 2. Next, take the "base" tube and wrap some aluminum foil tightly around the open end. 3. Then, place the "cap" piece over the wrapped foil to secure it in place. 4. After that, poke a small hole through the tin foil using a needle, toothpick, or paper clip. Now, all you need to do is point the cap end towards the sun during an eclipse and you should see the outline of the sun on the solid side of the base through the view hole. As of now, I have not tested this Eclipse Viewer design yet, but after the upcoming eclipse, I will be sure to test it out and make any necessary modifications if needed.
