Simple Sloth (Totemic)
myminifactory
A basic sloth made of simple shapes in a totemic style hangs effortlessly from long, thin objects like pens. Measuring 81mm x 38mm x 59mm, it takes just two hours to print at a .2mm resolution and 15% infill. Supports are necessary for this design. I used the Prusa 3D Slic3r settings with great results. I initially tried printing the sloth upside down, with its feet on the print bed. Unfortunately, it didn't turn out well. The supports were tricky to remove, and the feet came out narrower than expected, almost too small for the pen. It also affected the face in an unpleasant way. I modified the design by adding a flat area to the sloth's back and printing it that way instead. This worked amazingly well - the supports came out easily, and there was more flexibility in the feet, allowing it to hold items loosely. The only drawback is a small flat surface on its back, but it's barely noticeable from most angles. In fact, it allows the sloth to lie on its back without toppling over. This design modification is fully recommended. You can experiment with different orientations if you prefer, but this worked best for me.
