Simple single sided mold generator
thingiverse
This single-sided mold generator modifies Jason Webb's design, dividing the mold into two pieces that enhance part removal. The castings shown feature Sn97Cu3 solder, with bismuth added for detail and a matte finish. However, be cautious when pouring deeper cavities to avoid melting the mold. To use the generator, download mold_v2.scad and open it in OpenSCAD. Update parameters, compile, render, export as STL, and repair in Netfabb Basic before separating the mold pieces. For casting, use ABS plastic with sanded surfaces, clamp the two parts together, heat metal to just above melting point, pour into the mold, and cool in water. Twist the molds apart for removal. Please note that this is still a work in progress.
