# The poor mans eyepiece The eyepiece or ocular is the part that bends back the light that has been focused by the objective lens. A high quality eyepiece would be worth to invest in if you are looking for the best possible result when watching objects on the night sky. This eyepiece is on the other side designed to be as simple as possible. It's an eyepiece in its simplest form, consisting of a single lens. It may be used for educational purpose. Maybe it will give you or someone else a better feel for what an eyepiece is and why you would use it. ## The 1,25 inch standard The most popular size of an eyepiece is a diameter of 1.25 inch (31,75 mm). This eyepiece is designed to be slightly wider than 1.25 inch so that it does not by it self fall out of the telescope. ## What you need * A lens with a focal length of about 20 mm * This stl file ## The available stl files | Stl file | lens diameter (mm) | lens edge thickness (mm) | |---------------------------|----------------------------|------------------------- | |eyepiece-20-1_8.stl | 20 |1,8 | |eyepiece-9_4-1_2.stl | 9 |1,2 | Send a message and I will generate and upload a custom size that suite the lens that you have.
