A truly enormous so-called simple shaft-hole axe from Hol parish in Västergötland is remarkably well-preserved. Dating back to the Late Neolithic era, around 2300-1700 BC, this type of axe was commonly used as a working tool for cutting trees or other wooden elements. Nevertheless, this particular axe stands out due to its impressive length of over 30 cm, raising questions about its intended use and whether it was crafted for practical purposes. This object was meticulously scanned by Agnes Norman, a skilled Xenter technician specializing in 3D technology, using an EVA scanner. Historiska, The Swedish History Museum, is proud to have played a role in preserving this significant artifact for future generations.
