I added a simple food chute and an adapter for the caps of fruit juice bottles (reused to store food, sized for 1-1/2 inch ID pipe. I used printed parts from Kitlaan's thing:27854 but found a lack of clear documentation on how to wire it and the code was way too complex, so I stayed up late and hacked lots of other people's projects together to make this - SIMPLE - easy-to-adjust code. The numbers I have in drop a recommended sized meal three times per day for one cat. But you should run it and test the quantities your feeder drops to make sure the numbers are the same, then tweak them around. My code spins the auger 1 turn then reverses it 1/4 turn and repeats the pattern four times. The servo has three wires: signal, 5v, and ground. All of the servos I have used either have a yellow (signal), orange (+5v), or brown (ground) configuration or white (signal), red (+5v), or black (ground). You plug the signal wire into pin nine; it's usually either the white or yellow wire. You plug the 5v wire into the 5v pin, which is generally either the red or orange wire. You plug the ground wire into the GND pin, which is typically either brown or black. I've tested this on a UNO and a MEGA2560, and it works on both, but you need a good power supply going to your Arduino. The 12v 2a "Arduino" supply I got from China doesn't work unless it's plugged into a PC, and the PC doesn't work alone with a standard-sized servo, but if you program it - THEN - unplug the board from the PC and plug it into a 2a USB charger, it works great (like the ones that come with modern tablets and phones). I have a stack of Samsung chargers, and that's what I'm using.
