Simple RC Boat
thingiverse
This is a straightforward 3D printed RC boat that's been optimized for use with 0.4mm nozzles. The entire build process can be completed in just three hours, including print time! The boat utilizes very basic and widely available electronics: * Any transmitter and receiver will work * A small standard brushed motor is required (see pictures) * A small servo like this one: http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/__9392__Turnigy_MG90S_Digital_Metal_Gear_Servo_1_8kg_13_4g_0_10sec.html * An ESC made from an old servo controller is also necessary (http://www.instructables.com/id/Jury-Rigging-A-Servo-To-Drive-A-Low-Voltage-Motor/#step1) To make the boat watertight, several layers of ABS slurry were applied to both the inside and outside (http://www.instructables.com/id/100-Warp-Free-MakerBot-3D-Printing/step1/Put-ABS-Scraps-and-Acetone-in-a-Jar/) I hope you enjoy this little project, and be sure to check out my profile for more RC-related content.
