Simple Prusa i3 frame U clamp

Simple Prusa i3 frame U clamp

prusaprinters

Here is a simple, low-profile U clamp for the older design of Prusa i3 which uses printed Y corners and M8 threaded rod for the front and back ends of the Y sub-frame. These obviously are meant to fit over the lower rod at each end.

As you can see in the photo, the clamps should be placed as close as possible to the corners, and you should put a few strips of tape between them and the rods, for which I've intentionally left a small gap in the clamps. This helps provide good grip, with some "give", to keep the clamps from cramming down too hard on the rods, which can damage the printed Y corners.

Print instructions

Licence: Creative Commons - Attribution - Non-Commercial - Share Alike Category: 3D Printer Parts Print Settings

Printer Brand: Prusa

Printer: Prusa Clone

Rafts: No

Supports: No

Resolution: 0.2 mm

Infill: 30-50%
