https://youtu.be/5ScTaz4E4u4 This is a jig that I designed to align and join PLA filament. It requires very little filament to print and a rubber band (optional) is the only other component. As your setup varies wildly so will the temps and thus the heating times, but hopefully the video shows you enough to know what to look for so that you can assess they temperature as you fuse to get good results. Fusing filament together is great for cleaning up multiple end of spools into more useable lengths or even mixing colors. It removes the need for you to be johnny on the spot whenever the filament decides to run out. Some of us also still don't have end of filament sensors or may not want to stay up that extra hour or get up at all to change a roll when a buzzer goes off.
