Simple photo book stand
thingiverse
My wife takes amazing photos of our family while we're on vacation and then turns them into beautiful large-format photo books and calendars. We love giving these gifts to friends and family, who also enjoy displaying their copies on shelves, tables, or even desks in the office. The problem was finding a suitable stand to showcase these impressive books. The standard format for our photo books is DIN A4 (210x297mm) or A3 (297x420mm), which can be a bit tricky to display due to their ring binding. If we don't provide support, they tend to bend under their own weight. Printing a large stand would be time-consuming and expensive, requiring multiple parts that need to be assembled. To solve this issue, I came up with the idea of designing a printable stand with slots for a center piece. This simple yet effective design allows us to create the desired height and bridge the distance between the two sides. The model was created using Tinkercad, which is my first experience with 3D construction. The stand consists of three parts: a left side, a right side, and a center piece. While the center piece is usually not needed, it can be used for smaller books that don't fit when placed side by side. One of the best features of this design is that we can use multiple wooden center pieces to showcase different photos or exhibitions.
