Simple Pen Stand for Four Pens
thingiverse
While waiting for inspiration to strike for a show-stopping pen stand for my prized fountain pens, I crafted this simple oval design to keep them neatly organized on my desktop. It's unassuming, yet effective. The hole diameters are precisely tailored to fit the pens I'm housing - so there may be some discrepancies with any writing instruments you'd like to store, but it's likely that you'll have pens of some sort lying around that will fit into certain slots. A small bump indicator ensures you remember which end is the front on this otherwise symmetrical object. It makes a big difference for remembering where your favorite pen fits best. If you load the STL file into your preferred tool, you can easily modify the hole sizes to suit your taste. The fountain pens showcased in the photo, arranged from back to front, are a calligraphy pen (10.5mm), a Japanese Riviere fountain pen (8.7mm), a Waterman Maestro (8.5mm), and a Mont Blanc (9mm). Slight size variations affect how straight the pen sits in its hole.
