Simple parametric box generator for laser cut
thingiverse
This is a very simple box generator mostly for laser cutting, but it also exports to SLT files for 3D printing. You can print it out, glue it onto wood or any other material and then cut it out with a saw. The customizer on Thingiverse allows you to customize the design. If you need a DXF file, however, you will have to use OpenSCAD instead. Note that the variables for size are the outer dimensions of the box. If you want inner dimensions defined, add two times the material thickness to each side. With the right parameters, you can assemble the box without gluing it together. For example, if you're using 3mm thick plywood and a core thickness of 0.25, the box will be assembled perfectly. Update 1.2 has been released. It includes new options for "box" and "shelf" modes. The customizer settings have also been corrected to provide a better view for 3D printing. Additionally, there is now a fancy random color preview option available.
