Simple optics kit
thingiverse
A low-cost optics kit developed for remote instruction. The kit uses 3D printed parts, 38mm diameter optical components, a cloth tape measure and a flashlight from Harbor Freight. Cellophane tape is placed on the flashlight for diffusion and the flashlight is glued into the projector housing with hot melt glue. This allows for easy removal using a few drops of denatured alcohol on the glue. The screen is 0.010 polystyrene sheet, but you can easily substitute blank cardstock or copy paper. The cloth tape measure is taped to the tabletop and used like an optical rail. There are notches in the legs of the holders (where the indicator needles are) to engage with the tape measure.
