Simple openSCAD Top Hat
thingiverse
My first openSCAD model boasts a hollow design now; I haven't printed it yet though. Inspired by this fantastic tutorial: http://www.makerbot.com/blog/2011/01/28/openscad-basics-manipulating-forms/ Version 3 includes: - Hollow construction (with a possible slant for non-magical printers lacking "Prints on Air"(r) tech or "Super Dense Nothing"(tm) supplies) Version 2 features: - A more tapered top - A slightly shorter design Upcoming print plans: A 50% scaled model with these settings - 5% fill, 2 shells, and a 0.2 layer height. Picture proof coming soon! :D UPDATE: Photos are live now, but I actually printed at 10% size, and it's adorable! :p
