Simple One Cylinder Engine
thingiverse
Fully printable one cylinder engine. Use 1.75mm filament as a piston pin, friction fit on the piston and loose on the connection rod. It works just fine after assembly, but if the crank keeps coming off the pin, I've modeled a little lip to make it wider so the crank locks in place. You can do the same for the rods, but it's not needed due to the thicker rod. Don't melt parts together! Heat a flathead screwdriver tip and use that to widen the lip, making plastic malleable without melting it. I can create a video if this interests you. 0.2mm layer height and 0.4mm nozzle are recommended, but 0.25mm layer height and 0.5mm nozzle work too. The piston pin was tough to get in, so some sanding is needed on the side of the piston. Check out my V-Twin Engine, using the same pistons and crank as this one! https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3353257 Also, check out my Boxer Engine, using the same pistons as this one! https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3667783 Lastly, check out my Radial Engine, using the same pistons as this one! https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3671312
