Simple, eight-sided model rocket designed for smooth nose cone separation after timed delay. Powered by reliable Estes C6-3 or C6-5 Engines that deliver consistent performance. Your kids will love these rockets and enjoy creating their own unique designs with various colors and fin configurations. This compact rocket stands approximately 12 inches tall and has a sleek 1-inch body diameter, while the fins span 5 inches. The base features an integrated rod guide and four sturdy fins for stability during flight. The nose cone is hollow and capable of carrying small payloads, while the upper stage contains the parachute or ribbon streamer to slow down descent. The lower stage and nose cone cap have secure attachment points for the tether, ensuring a smooth deployment sequence. To prevent engine blow-out during parachute charge, the engine cap twists on securely. ALWAYS LAUNCH SAFELY AND IN OPEN AREAS TO AVOID ANY ACCIDENTS. Additional files with supports and fin supports are provided to make printing easier. The nose cone, upper stage, and lower stage can be printed without additional supports using a 0.3mm layer thickness, 15% infill, and two perimeters/shells. I achieved excellent results with this setup. The base, including fin supports, requires the same print settings as the other stages. However, I found it helpful to add supports for the first 20 layers for added stability. The nose and engine caps were printed with a finer 0.2mm layer thickness and 100% infill using supports. To assemble your rocket, simply print all six parts, remove break-away supports, and complete any desired finishing techniques. Make sure the nose cone and cap deploy smoothly from the upper stage by sanding if necessary for a perfect fit. Attach the base to the lower stage, then secure the tether to the lower stage and pull it through the upper stage. Glue or attach the upper and lower stages together, followed by attaching the other end of the tether to the nose cone cap. Finally, glue or attach the nose cone and nose cap in place. I always print extra engine caps as a precautionary measure in case the rocket experiences a parachute charge failure during flight.
