This is a simple three-part mount for my old magnifier desk lamp.

The end of the lamp's arm has a little cylindrical post that would normally be inserted into a base that's basically a modified C-clamp, however that clamp does not fit onto my table properly in the spot I want to put it. Where the clamp does fit, it still doesn't work because mine's a plastic folding table, so it's too flexible to hold the clamp with its tiny clamping surface area.

So, I made this. Two parts bolt to the table on top and bottom to form a permanent base, then the third part, basically a ginormous hex bolt with the center bored-out, threads into the top piece to provide the actual mounting hole for the lamp. The purpose of the screw-in piece is both to allow for a smaller print when the lamp wears it out too much (it's a metal post in a plastic hole, after all), and in case someone wants to alter it to accept a different size post.

Obviously you have to drill holes through the desk for the bolts. You may want to drill a hole to make some clearance for the bottom of the lamp's post, but that isn't strictly necessary. The bolt holes are 7mm, the hole for the lamp post is 13 mm. I probably should have made the hole in the bottom plate larger, but I was going for strength here rather than versatility, and my lamp's post isn't long enough to reach it anyway.

Print instructions

Print hot and slow. PETG recommended.
