Simple Magnetic Dishwasher Sign

<p>This is a simple design for a magnetic dishwasher sign. I needed something without moving parts and relatively flat so that my dang cat wouldn't be enticed into knocking it down or flipping the sign around constantly. So here we are. Can be printed using two different filaments like I did, but one works fine as well.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>The magnets are embedded in this pint so you'll need to pause part way through, insert them, then continue the print. This design was originally made to use 8, 5mm x 2.6mm magnet pucks, but I've included a few different configurations as well using bigger magnets. I've also included the freeCAD project file so you can change parameters to your liking and just edit the design in general.&nbsp;</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>*Notes on freeCad file:&nbsp;</p><ul><li>Use the spreadsheet labeled “dim”</li><li>the text objects aren't parameterized so you'll have to manually edit their properties if you do something like enlarge or shrink the whole sign.</li><li>Magnet parameters you'll want to fiddle with are:<ul><li>magnet hole diameter</li><li>magnet hole depth</li><li>number of magnets (use an even number or one of the steps will break)</li><li>distance from bottom to mag hole</li><li>mag hole offset from edge</li></ul></li><li>If you do edit magnet parameters, make sure to look at the model in wireframe mode so you can see your results easily.</li></ul><p>&nbsp;</p><p>Print Settings I used for the sign in the picture:</p><ul><li>PLA</li><li>20% infill - cubic</li><li>4 top/bottom layers</li><li>3 walls</li><li>No supports</li><li>Ironing ON for just the last layer (buttery smooth top surface of text)</li><li>Inserted 1 pause at the layer before the magnet pockets are covered up</li><li>*Optional*: Inserted 1 filament change pause before the text walls begin printing to switch from black to white filament.</li></ul>
