Simple Lunar Sampling Drill
grabcad
In my inaugural GrabCAD challenge, I designed a NASA lunar sampling device, weighing about 461g. It comprises one geared motor and two servos. Despite completing it within two days, calculations were omitted. Key features include a carbide-tipped rock-splitting drill head, a sample selector for varying sizes, a CPU box (40x80x80, support structure not attached), an inspect/accept/reject stage with a camera inspection portal. The models were created using PTC Creo 3.0 and Fusion 360.
