Simple Linear Bearing from NYLON

thingiverse

This shell houses a 3/8" rod with BBs, creating a linear bearing. NYLON allows smooth movement and support. Printed on a 2BEIGH3 3D Printer, the STL file is for discussion purposes. Initial builds were successful, but BB irregularities led to sorting. Retraction issues resulted in remaining threads, unaffected by acetone due to NYLON. Each unit requires over 20 BBs and no lubrication is needed. The .5mm nozzle print ensured proper contact for most BBs. The part serves a fluid mixing system testing water samples for pH, ORP, TDS, chlorine, and industrial residues, with NYLON chosen for its chemical resistance and lack of contaminating lubrication. The fill was increased to 65% for rigidity, and the design is similar to http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4718.
