Simple LED Butterfly Pin

Simple LED Butterfly Pin

thingiverse

A simple pin with a backlit butterfly that gradually shifts colors in and out. This is reminiscent of my Neopixel Butterfly Brooch, which can be found on Thingiverse under reference number 2783280. The pin attaches to clothing using a magnetic clasp. Powered by a CR2032 coin cell battery housed within a Lilypad battery holder/switch. The cover or lid snaps securely onto the case. The total cost of parts is less than $20 USD. To achieve the slow-fade RGB LED effect, visit Adafruit and purchase product number 679. 3D print time typically ranges from two to three hours. Assembly can be completed in under 45 minutes. For a more detailed guide, refer to my blog post on thisoldgeek.blogspot.com.
