Simple Landing Gear with Retract Option
grabcad
To locate lightweight wheels on my RC EDF jet, I opted for small, free-spinning ones that could be easily attached using double-sided tape. Initially, I didn't use retracts, but later added them by modifying the bottom of the jet to accommodate the wheels within the body and wings. This involved cutting holes in the wings for a seamless transition between extended and retracted landing gear positions. The model was designed using FreeCAD and printed with RepHost Cura. Print settings included 100mm/s print speed, 200°C extruder temperature, 65°C bed temperature, and 5-10% infill. Each complete model took approximately 30 minutes to print.
