Simple lampshade
myminifactory
This is a simple lampshade that can be easily modified by adjusting the two sketches in FreeCad that form its basis for personal needs. To function as intended, the clamping ring should be wedged into the base of the lampshade, where it tightly grips a cylinder due to the friction of printing lines. Although there is some wiggle room, measuring twice and testing rings beforehand might be advisable before committing to a full print. My mother recently purchased this Medusa hair type lamp without shades, and my father disliked looking directly at lightbulbs. So I figured this would be a good reason to learn FreeCad. As my first attempt at any CAD software, even coming from old school Blender, I found it a steep learning curve. If you alter the height and width significantly, don't forget to adjust the radius of the pipe and its curve for cooling holes. The current airhole diameter and curve were designed so that no angle or way allows seeing lightbulbs through them, as per my father's explicit wishes. The current wall thickness are specifically designed for two walls of 0.8 linewidth, which results in printing times of about four hours even at speeds of 30 to 40mm/s.
