Simple kashaka half-shell (customizable)
prusaprinters
Given that there aren't too many snuffbox trees growing in Canada, I had to improvise when trying kashakas. You're probably better off buying the real thing. Pick the diameter to suit your hand size in Customizer. Smaller might be better. Make sure that the central hole is just big enough to let the string pass through, but not allow the stop knot to pass through. The standard wall thickness may be too heavy, but should print on most machines. Print Settings Printer Brand: Prusa Printer: I3 MK3S Rafts: No Supports: Yes Resolution: 0.2 mm Infill: 15 % Filament: eSun PLA+ Light Blue Notes: !!! You will need to print four (4) of these to make one set !!! Some light internal support may be needed to help the shell keep its shape. Post-Printing Find a suitable shaker fill material. I tried kiln-dried barley with minor success. Make sure the edges are clean and flat, as you will be gluing them together. Fill one half as full as you can with shaker fill, then glue the other half on top. Once the glue has dried, thread string through the holes, tie off one end, then measure the right length to go round your hand before knotting the string and trimming it. Category: Music
