Simple hinge base for 1x2 furring strips
thingiverse
I needed a simple way to support a shelf without committing to a permanent solution. What I required was something that would allow me to hinge a 1-foot furring strip at an angle underneath a small shelf. When not in use, I wanted the shelf to be able to swing down against the wall out of my way. This little do-hickey proved to be all I needed. To utilize it, all you need to do is drill a hole in one end of a furring strip (about 1/2 inch from the end) and run a bolt through that hole as well as the matching ones on this fixture. Suddenly, you have yourself a hinge!
