Simple Hammer
thingiverse
This is a basic model of a hammer, roughly the same size as some smaller claw hammers available for purchase. Unlike claw hammers, it features a simple angled "claw" section instead of a retractable claw. The design still allows for an angled nail removal system at the back end. In the photos, I attempted to use the model as a metal hammer and it snapped apart. Fortunately, it was easy to reassemble for the sake of taking pictures. To see this process in action, check out the video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lGO6WYaORmE. Don't let that setback discourage you - this design would still make a great toy hammer for kids who want to learn about hammers. You can also watch a time-lapse print of another failed attempt at creating a hammer, with the same model and orientation as the successful one above. See it here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PCStK__L9pM. After conducting a second test, I successfully hammered a few nails into wood using this design.
