Simple GT2 Belt Tensioner
pinshape
SummaryA tensioner for GT2 belts I built for my Delta printer is surprisingly simple to design. It attaches directly to the belt and moves with it, making it essential to attach it at a point where it won't interfere with other parts or pass through a pulley. A 14mm M3 screw and nut are used to bend the belt sideways. The prototype's photo shows that I added a "pusher" between the belt and the end of the screw to prevent damage from the screw cutting into the belt. The pusher is tapered, making it easier to insert in one direction than the other. I recently made the frame slightly larger to increase its strength after breaking one.
